Feel the History of Rock and Roll when Tony Mart Presents Mardi Gras AC!!

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (July 28, 2023) – This Wednesday Tony Mart will present one of the greatest moments in its rich musical history at Mardi Gras AC on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City. Celebrate the legacy of Levon & The Hawks in the summer of ’65 when the greatest band that ever played at Tony Marts became Bob Dylan & The Band.

That night, August 2nd, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame songs of THE BAND including “Ophelia”, “ The Shape I’m In” and “Don’t Do It” will be part of a Pop Up Tony Mart Tribute performed by one of hottest Americana jam bands at the New Orleans Jazz Fest, The Honey Island Swamp Band, who will also perform highlights from The Last Waltz, the famous movie with Dylan, Clapton, Van Morrison, Neil Young and many more rock stars.

The party concert starts with the most popular recordings from The Honey Island Swamp Band including their hot new recording, “Custom Deluxe”, before paying homage to The Band at this rocking, jammin’ concert next Wednesday August 2nd 7 – 10 pm.

Eddie and The Cruisers was a fictitious band in what became a famous movie filmed at Tony Marts.

Levon & The Hawks were actually the greatest band that ever played in Tony Marts in the summer of 1965. They were sent to Tony Marts by Conway Twitty and taken away by Bob Dylan himself.

THE BAND is universally recognized as one of the most artistically important rock n’ roll bands in history acclaimed as a superlative  American rock n’ roll band that created the primal musical elements of what we now call “Americana”.

This Week’s New Orleans headliner, Honey Island Swamp Band, will  celebrate Tony Mart’s place in rock ‘n’ roll history in another great free concert this Wednesday Aug 2nd.

Be a part of this continuing Tony Mart legacy of rock ‘n’ roll history on Wednesday, August 23rd, when the celebration of “Levon & The Hawks at Tony Marts in the summer of ‘65 will continue when The Weight Band, including members of THE BAND and The Levon Helm Band, perform the music of Bob Dylan & The Band.
