CRDA Executive Director Matthew J. Doherty to Depart January 28, 2022

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – (January 13, 2022) – Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) Executive Director Matthew J. Doherty is set to depart the Authority effective January 28, 2022.

Doherty, a former mayor of Belmar, Monmouth County and previously a financial adviser, took over as executive director of the CRDA in 2018. In the past four years at CRDA, Doherty worked to address food insecurity, bringing more health care options into the City and, most recently, bringing the supermarket project to fruition with a groundbreaking held this past November.

“It has been a pleasure to serve in the Murphy Administration, and I thank Governor Murphy, Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver, CRDA Chairman Mo Butler and the CRDA Board for the opportunity I’ve had over these past four years,” Doherty said. “I’ve had the honor of working with an outstanding group of people at the CRDA who are hard at work every day to improve the lives of the residents of Atlantic City.”

“Matt has accomplished a great deal during his four years at CRDA, said CRDA Board Chairman Modia Butler. “He was able to get the CRDA back to what it was created to do, which is to serve the residents of Atlantic City.”

A replacement has not been named at this time.
