Tourism District

In January 2011, the Tourism District Act was passed by the New Jersey Legislature, which authorized the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority to manage and regulate land use within the Tourism District within Atlantic City. Under this designation, the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) oversees all functions of the district and makes changes to attract new businesses and attractions. The Tourism District comprises several key areas in the city; the Marina District, Ducktown, Chelsea, South Inlet, Bader Field, and Gardner’s Basin. Also included are 10 roadways that lead into the district, including several in the city’s northern end and North Beach.

With regard to changes in land use, the CRDA requires the submission of an application where it is subject to a review by the Land Use Regulation & Enforcement Division and may require a CRDA Land Use Hearing and CRDA Board approval.

In the following sections you will find documents in order to request any changes. Should you have any questions, please make sure to contact us at the Planning & Development department via this online form.
