Public Hearing Notice: 2025 Special Improvement District Certification of the Assessment Rolls

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (February 3, 2025) – PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (“CRDA”) Special Improvement District Division Committee (the “Committee”) will hold a public hearing at the following time and place to discuss the matter described below:
Date: Tuesday, February 18, 2025
Time: 1 p.m.
Location: 15 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ
Purpose: The purpose of the Committee’s public hearing is to hear and consider any objections to the proposed special assessments for the Special Improvement District’s 2025 budget year and to make recommendation(s) to CRDA’s governing body.
In January 2025 each commercial property owner in the Tourism District was mailed a notice of the assessed value of their property and their respective SID assessment.
The assessment roll setting forth the special assessment on each relevant property within the Special Improvement District is available for review, please contact Laura Berrios via telephone at (609) 432-4028 or via email at [email protected] to schedule an appointment.
The proposed special assessment for the 2025 budget year is based on $38.00 per $100,000 of net assessed value. The proposed special assessment rate is the same rate assessed by the CRDA Special Improvement District for the 2024 budget year and remains unchanged since the CRDA established the Tourism District in 2011 and absorbed the SID.
The special assessment of the subject properties designated by Resolution 11-25 dated April 19, 2011, is estimated to generate net revenues in the amount of $1,210,155 toward the 2025 budget, with the balance of the budget funded by other CRDA revenues.
On November 6, 2024, the CRDA Special Improvement District Committee introduced the 2025 budget in the amount of $8,823,234, and the CRDA Member Board adopted the 2025 Special Improvement District Budget at its regular public meeting on December 17, 2024.
ALL PERSONS wishing to make a statement or comment on the 2025 assessment should appear personally or through an attorney or agent. The CRDA will also accept written testimony provided such testimony is delivered to the CRDA’s offices at least two (2) business days prior to the date of the Hearing to the attention of Jane Fontana, 15 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ 08401.
At the conclusion of the public hearing on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, the Committee intends to make recommendations to the CRDA Member Board on the matters outlined above. The CRDA Member Board may act upon these recommendations at its regular public meeting scheduled on February 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
