Favorite Wines, Top Area Artists Provide Evening Out to Benefit Hospitality Student Scholarships
Wine Tasting Art Show at Arts Garage February 4, 2015
(Atlantic City, NJ, January 29, 2015) – The 6th annual “At the Shore-Press of Atlantic City Wine Tasting Art Show” will provide a bright spot in the middle of winter, on Wednesday, February 4, from 5-8 p.m., with several new aspects.
The event will be held for the first time at the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton College, Mississippi and Fairmount Avenues, and will feature 16 artists, including the artists of the Arts Garage, as well as The African American Historical Museum of Southern New Jersey, the Fair Trade Store and the Oriental Store that are housed in the Arts Garage.
Art will be available for sale, and the artists will be on hand to discuss their work with the public.
Wines this year will include selections from AC Bottle Company/R&R Distributors, Allied Beverage and Gallo, including PLAYTIME, ShannonRidge, Gallo and Complicated brands. A selection of reds and whites will be available for tastings, included in the ticket price, and will be sold by the bottle for take-home. A cash bar will also be available.
A selection of complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be provided by Ducktown Tavern, and complimentary desserts will be provided by Ovations, the resident catering service under contract to Boardwalk Hall and the Atlantic CityConvention Center.
The event will also include a silent auction of items donated by local businesses, ranging from concert and special event tickets, dolphin watching cruises and golf rounds, to hotel stays, restaurant gift certificates and passes to the ShopRite LPGA Classic, among other items.
The entire event will be accompanied by music from the Stockton Faculty Band.
A limit of 300 tickets will be sold for the event. Advance tickets are $25 each and are still available; any tickets not sold in advance will be available at the door for $30. All proceeds will benefit the scholarship program administered by the Greater Atlantic City Concierge Association and the CRDA Foundation, the event’s producers. Scholarships are available to students in the hospitality curriculums at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, AtlanticCapeCommunity College and FairleighDickensonCollege. To date, the program has awarded 43 scholarships and merit awards. A special award named for the late Howard Bacharach, long-term president of the Atlantic City Hotel and Lodging Association, will be implemented this year, as well. Scholarships will be awarded during the annual Host Awards banquet May 6, 2015.
