ACUA’s Wastewater Treatment Facility is the largest hybrid wind and solar powered treatment facility in the world. The wind farm is located at 1801 Absecon Boulevard. Absecon Lighthouse and Revel Casino Hotel will host the Revel Family Arts Festival in honor of National Lighthouse Day. From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., children can participate in four different art forms instructed by area artists: painting by muralist Linda Wexler, spoken word by Joey Collepardi, drumming circle by Brian Johnson and dance by Atlantic City Ballet. Atlantic City Free Public Library and the City of Atlantic City host Chinese Theatre Works as part of the International Night Concert Series at Kennedy Plaza on the Boardwalk. The Chinese Theatre Works create artistic performances that bridge Eastern and Western theatrical aesthetics and forms. Miss America Video Booth
Capture and share the spirit of Miss America memories at the new video booth located in the lobby of Boardwalk Hall. The video booth is available for visitors to record their favorite memories then share on social media networks. The booth is open during Boardwalk Hall hours.
Boardwalk Beat
Music through the decades is the focus of the third installment of this spectacular 3-D sound and light show on Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall. The nine minute show features a magical journey through 80 years of musical history. The show runs every half hour nightly beginning at 9:30 pm. Best viewing area is at Kennedy Plaza in front of Boardwalk Hall.
Artlantic
A seven-acre exhibition site, located on Pacific Avenue between Martin Luther King Boulevard and South Indiana Avenues in Atlantic City, includes works by Robert Barry, Ilya and Emilia Kabakov and Kiki Smith. The site currently includes two open spaces with two sculptures surrounded by 14-foot-high and 11- foot high undulating terraces covered in indigenous grasses and wildflowers. The Kabakov sculpture is a large, wooden pirate ship. Opposite the ship is a life-sized version of “Her,” a bronze sculpture of a woman embracing a doe by Smith surrounded by a red-themed garden. Embedded in the landscape surrounding both open spaces are Robert Barry’s illuminated text pieces. The landscape design is by Balmori Associates. The second installation, “Étude Atlantis,” a large-scale optical illusion by artist John Roloff, is located at California Avenue and the Boardwalk.
Water Show
The Water Show at The Pier Shops at Caesars is a six-minute multi-sensory presentation of water, light and sound. Show runs every hour on the hour. (609) 345-3100.
