VISIT ATLANTIC CITY: Atlantic City Brings The Heat This Spring
Atlantic City, NJ (March 27, 2023) – In 2023, Meet AC announced its rebranding to Visit Atlantic City with a coinciding new website. Visit Atlantic City and the Atlantic City Sports Commission kicked off the year strong, with 18 events, conventions and conferences that generated 38,680 room nights booked and 175,362 attendees that resulted in a total economic impact of $62,663,443. In 2023, the destination has already hosted major events and conferences like the Pool & Spa Show in January, the 2023 USRowing Annual Convention in February and the Discover Boating Atlantic City Boat Show in March.
“We began 2023 with a bang, announcing our rebrand to Visit Atlantic City, which now encompasses all our seaside destination has to offer,” said Larry Sieg, President and CEO of Visit Atlantic City. “In person meetings and conventions are still on the rise, and we are proud to have hosted 18 events in our destination this first quarter. Home to one of the largest convention centers on the East Coast and a plethora of event space throughout the city, we look forward to our continued support of the resurgence of in-person events and industry-leading conventions.”

April Fools Half Marathon and 8K
The April Fools Half Marathon and 8K will take place on the historic Atlantic City Boardwalk on April 1 – 2, 2023. With over eight miles of boardwalk, the April Fools Half Marathon offers a shared start and finish line and a fast, flat course along the picturesque Atlantic Ocean. All participants over the age of 21 will receive a ticket for one free beer at either LandShark Bar & Grill or Margaritaville. The event expects 1,500 attendees, 200 room nights and $338,501 in economic impact.
The Boardwalk Block Party will take place at the Atlantic City Convention Center April 22 – 23, 2023. The Boardwalk Plock Party is the perfect time for volleyball teams and club families to wrap up the season and prepare for Nationals. The event expects 7,000 attendees, 4,261 room nights and $5,165,128 in economic impact.
The ZGXL Basketball Circuit will take place at the Atlantic City Convention Center on April 28 – 30, 2023. Over 300 of the top NCAA teams in the Northeast will compete under one roof in front of hundreds of college coaches in the second stop of the season. The event expects 7,000 attendees, 1,302 room nights and $2,195,673 in economic impact.
The Main Event will take place at the Atlantic City Convention Center on May 6 – 7, 2023. The Main Event is part of the Select Events annual basketball circuit, which is one of the leaders of youth basketball markets in the Northeast. The Main Event will be hosting boys in grades three to eight and girls in grades four to eight. The event expects 7,000 attendees, 1,210 room nights and $2,141,851 in economic impact.
USA Wrestling 2023 Phil Portuese Northeast Regional Championships
The USA Wrestling 2023 Phil Portuese Northeast Regional Championships will take place at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City on May 11 – 14, 2023. This event is a qualifier for the 2023 Junior and 16U National Championships in Fargo, ND and offers both men and women an opportunity to compete in Freestyle and Greco-Roman styles of wrestling competition. The event expects 1,200 attendees, 480 room nights and $538,319 in economic impact.
The Atlantic City Showcase will take place at the Atlantic City Convention Center on May 19 – 21, 2023. The Atlantic City Showcase is part of the Select Events annual basketball circuit which is one of the leaders of youth basketball markets in the Northeast and will host girls in grades six to 12. The event expects 7,000 attendees, 4,401 room nights and $4,953,943 in economic impact.
The Bungalow Beach Boardwalk Run
The Bungalow Beach Boardwalk Run will take place on the historic Atlantic City Boardwalk on June 3, 2023. The event is a five mile race and is a part of the Atlantic City Marathon Race Series set to take place over two hours ending with a final dash to the finish line on the beach into Bungalow Beach Bar. The event expects 500 attendees, 125 room nights and $113,450 in economic impact.

SEIU 32BJ Leadership 2023 Conference
The SEIU 32BJ Leadership 2023 Conference is set to take place at the Atlantic City Convention Center on April 28 – 29, 2023. The weekend will celebrate select attendees that make up the 175,000 working individuals fighting for higher wages, quality healthcare, protections at work and other essential benefits for community members. The event expects 1,200 attendees, 2,175 room nights and $2,099,516 in economic impact.
The 2023 CHAMPS Trade Show East
The 2023 CHAMPS Trade Show is set to take place May 9 – 11 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. This year’s CHAMPS will attract hundreds of exhibitors to attend the leading counter-culture B2B trade expo serving the smoke shop industry. CHAMPS exhibitors will include manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, glass artists, inventors, and suppliers who showcase specialty products. The event expects 6,000 attendees, 730 room nights and $2,140,355 in economic impact.
The 2023 Eastern Energy Expo is set to take place May 23 – 24, 2023 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. The event is the leading energy and comfort industry event and is set to showcase a variety of new technical and business programs including topics like marketing in the post-IRA environment, growing your customer base, renewable fuels and showcases of brand new industry products. The event expects 3,200 attendees, 2,469 room nights and $2,462,834 in economic impact.
The NJAA Conference and Expo 2023
The New Jersey Apartment Association (NJAA) Conference and Expo will be held May 23 – 25, 2023 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. This event attracts the industry’s finest professionals for three days of networking and education. Owners, regional managers, leasing and other industry leaders attend to learn about the latest products and services provided by our vendor members in addition to two outstanding days of education. The event expects 1,525 attendees, 1,418 room nights and $1,590,219 in economic impact.
Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival
The Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival returns June 3 – 4, 2023 at Bader Field. For over 16 years, the festival has attracted thousands of visitors to enjoy over 30 breweries each year. This year, the festival will make its return with bands like the Dropkick Murphys and 311 keeping the crowds entertained and over 120 breweries and brew masters quenching guests’ thirst.
The Action Expo will be held June 14 – 16, 2023 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. The Action Expo has been held each year since 2001 and is regarded as the nation’s top specialty surf, swim and beach fashion show in the Northeast U.S. specialty store market. The show expects 100 attendees, 44 room nights and $53,420 in economic impact.
The 7th Annual Police Security Expo will be held June 27 – 28, 2023 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. This event is the law enforcement industry’s premier showcase and is designed to empower the law enforcement community and unveil industry-leading goods, products and services. The show expects 7,905 attendees, 1,840 room nights and $3,277,444 in economic impact.
The first-ever KPC Bengali Hall of Fame is set to take place on June 30 – July 2, 2023 at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. KPC Bengali Hall of Fame is a philanthropic organization with the mission to build up a museum for preserving the heritage and glory of Bengal. The show expects 3,000 attendees, 2,968 room nights and $2,478,233 in economic impact.

Spiegelworld’s ‘The Hook’ is Set to Open in June 2023
Set to open June 2023, The Hook is expected to be Atlantic City’s newest immersive entertainment experience. In conjunction with Caesars Entertainment, Spiegelworld resurrected the former Atlantic City Warner Theater to become the city’s only permanent live entertainment destination. The new 400-seat theater will be home to this brand new production and Spiegelworld’s revolutionary Italian-American-Psychedelic Superfrico restaurant. The Hook is part of Caesars Entertainment’s $400 million investment in Atlantic City.
The Island Water Park to Open at Showboat Atlantic City Hotel
The newest attraction in Atlantic City is set to open in summer 2023, The Island Water Park at Showboat Hotel. The waterpark will be the world’s largest indoor beachfront waterpark and boasts a retractable roof for year-round waterpark fun, 11 different slides, a splash pad and a lazy river. The property will be 100,000 square-feet and was developed through a $100 million investment by Showboat Hotel.
Set to open this Spring, Chef Michael Brennan brings a contemporary American restaurant, Cardinal, to the Orange Loop in Atlantic City. Cardinal will have 120 seats, two bars and an outside space. The restaurant will feature brand-new furniture, natural lighting, a bright color palette and bountiful foliage to emit a sense of nature in the former industrial space. Chef Michael has been planning for Cardinal to be the rebirth of his former restaurant, Cardinal Bistro, which closed its doors in 2019 after a successful three years.
