  First Look at opened time capsule. Two newspapers are first items sighted.      
                                      
 





One of the letters was sent by New Jersey State Supreme Court Justice Joseph B. Perskie, grandfather to recently retired State Superior Court Judge and former New Jersey State Senator Steven P. Perskie.
 
     
 
Heather Halpin Pérez, Archivist, Alfred M. Heston Collection of
Atlantic City Free Public Library, carefully examines all the contents of the time capsule.
 
 
     
 
Heather Halpin Pérez unfolds the April 4, 1936 edition of the Atlantic City Press, selling for two cents. Major headline of the day was the execution of Bruno Richard Hauptman, the convicted kidnapper and murderer of Charles Lindberg, Jr.
 
 
     
  The April 4, 1936 edition of the Atlantic City Press provides the details of the cornerstone and time capsule program.  
 
     
 
The copper box was remakably well-preserved with a dent of one corner and a couple of pin holes. Great care was taken to solder the copper box shut.
