 Time Capsule - Page 2 - Opening



            
  Cornerstone of the former US Post Office on the corner of Pacific Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Laid April 4, 1936.
The time capsule was found on June 28, 2010 behind where the cornerstone was placed. The time capsule measures 15 inches by 7 inches by 3 1/2 inches.  
         
         
  Tom Meehan, CRDA Director of Development used a power tool to cut the copper box along the seams in order to preserve whatever materials may have been in the box. Close-up of Meehan cutting near the corner of the box. The opening process took about 30 minutes. Meehan opens the time capsule on June 30, 2010.
